Architectural Designer (Skurman Architects)
Skurman Architects is a renowned classical architecture firm located in San Francisco, acclaimed both nationally and internationally for our custom-designed homes.
Position Overview
We are looking for a talented and experienced Architectural Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural design, ideally with experience in classical architecture. This role requires an understanding of classical design principles and the ability to apply them creatively and effectively in various projects, while working closely with the firm’s Principals and Senior Architects. Additionally, this is not a remote position.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the firm’s Principals and Senior Architects to develop architectural designs from initial concept to completion.
- Create detailed architectural drawings and plans using AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards.
- Contribute to the design process by conducting research, preparing design presentations, and offering innovative ideas.
- Participate in team meetings to gather project requirements and present design proposals.
- Coordinate with consultants and contractors to ensure the design vision is realized throughout the projects, as needed or requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related discipline.
- Professional experience in architectural design, with a preference for classical architecture.
- AutoCAD proficiency is essential; familiarity with other design software is advantageous.
- Preferably a strong portfolio showcasing design skills and knowledge of classical architectural styles and details.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and the ability to work independently between deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
