Skurman Architects is a renowned classical architecture firm located in San Francisco, acclaimed both nationally and internationally for our custom-designed homes.

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of experience, preferably in classical architecture, and possess proficiency in AutoCAD. This role requires an understanding of classical design principles and the ability to apply them creatively and effectively in various projects. Additionally, this is not a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage architectural projects from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with the firm's classical design ethos.
  • Collaborate with the firm’s principals and fellow senior architects to understand their vision and translate it into detailed architectural plans and designs.
  • Oversee project teams, providing guidance and mentorship to junior architects and designers.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to create precise and detailed architectural drawings.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure projects are executed according to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in architecture to continuously enhance design solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • 4 to 7 years professional experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with other design software is a plus.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in traditional and classical architectural styles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
