Senior Architect / Project Manager (Interactive Resources)

Interactive Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Architect / Project Manager to join our team in a key leadership role. This position combines client leadership, project oversight, and technical expertise across a range of institutional and public-sector projects. We are looking for an accomplished architect who values design quality, technical rigor, and long-term client relationships, and who may be interested in a future leadership role within the firm.

This role will help fill a key leadership role within the firm, providing client leadership, project management, and technical expertise, and mentorship across a range of institutional and public-sector projects. Requirements:

Experience

  • Licensure as Architect (California preferred)
  • 12+ years of professional experience, including leadership roles
  • Strong background in renovation, rehabilitation, or public-sector work
  • Expertise in technical detailing, particularly building envelope systems
  • Experience managing consultant teams and agency review processes
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Interest in mentorship and/or developing of junior staff
  • A collaborative, mission-driven approach to practice
  • Experience with historic resources, campus environments, government, or university clients is highly valued

Tools and Technical Skills

  • Revit experience is required; the ability to create and modify drawings, views, and schedules
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, and Ajera Deltek preferred

Project Leadership

  • Serve as project architect and/or project manager on multiple active assignments
  • Guide projects through all phases: planning, design, documentation, permitting, and construction administration
  • Coordinate with the client, internal staff, and consultant team

Technical Excellence

  • Lead technical development of building renovation, envelope, and roofing projects
  • Apply strong knowledge of codes, detailing, and constructability
  • Support quality control across project deliverables

Client Relationship Support

  • Maintain and build client trust through responsiveness, professionalism, and sound judgment
  • Support delivery of on-call contract delivery and client coordination
  • Represent the firm in meetings and community-facing work

Mentorship & Collaboration

  • Support and mentor emerging architects and technical staff
  • Contribute to an office culture of teamwork, shared standards, and accountability
  • Provide leadership during project staffing and coordination

Growth & Opportunity

  • Participate in business development efforts and proposal support
  • Help expand IR’s capacity for institutional and rehabilitation work
  • Potential future advancement into senior leadership based on interest and performance

Work Expectations

Manage multiple projects concurrently (typically 2–5 depending on scope)

Salary & Benefits

We offer a competitive salary based on experience, a 401(k) with employer matching, comprehensive health insurance, and generous paid time off, with potential for performance-based bonuses.
