Senior Architect (Skurman Architects)

Skurman Architects is a renowned classical architecture firm located in San Francisco, acclaimed both nationally and internationally for our custom-designed homes.

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in classical architecture, and possess proficiency in AutoCAD. This role requires a deep appreciation for classical design principles and the ability to apply them creatively and effectively in various projects. Additionally, this is not a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage architectural projects from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with the firm's classical design ethos.
• Collaborate with the firm’s principals and fellow senior architects to understand their vision and translate it into detailed architectural plans and designs.
• Oversee project teams, providing guidance and mentorship to junior architects and designers.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Utilize AutoCAD to create precise and detailed architectural drawings.
• Conduct site visits to ensure projects are executed according to design specifications and quality standards.
• Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in architecture to continuously enhance design solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• 10 years professional experience, at minimum.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with other design software is a plus.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in traditional and classical architectural styles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
