Intermediate Designer (MarJang Architecture)
Introduction
MarJang Architecture (MJA) is seeking an Intermediate Architect (5-10 years' experience) to join our San Francisco design office. We are looking for a self-starting, collaborative individual who looks to learn and grow with every project and design.
MJA is a collaborative studio that approaches architecture with an iterative design process to produce client-specific, tailored projects. As part of the firm, you will collaborate with all members of our office and participate in all phases of a project from design through construction.
Intermediate Architect
- As an Intermediate Architect, you will have a supported leading role on projects, including providing technical guidance to junior staff.
- Will work with senior staff to schedule, coordinate, problem-solve, and evaluate solutions for complex project types.
- Will learn from senior staff to develop project manager responsibilities and skills.
- Able to provide initial project research for code analysis.
- Develop initial design concepts and plans.
- Familiarity with coordinating a project with the consultant team and can coordinate issues with the architectural design drawings.
- Brings technical skills in documentation of drawings, details, and specifications and is able to review and provide comments for construction drawings.
- Familiarity with construction administration processes, including the response to RFIs and Submittal/Shop Drawing review.
- Able to provide Revit support to other staff members for technical assistance and workflow concepts.
Qualifications
- Professional architecture degree (B.Arch or M.Arch)
- Licensed or currently on the path to licensure.
- Proficient in setting up projects in Revit; intermediate to advanced skills; understands Revit workflow and process concepts.
- Portfolio demonstrates experience in design and construction documentation
- Proficient or open to learning Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, SketchUp, Rhino, Enscape, and Lumion.
- Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.
