Project Designer (Siegel & Strain Architects)

We are seeking an architectural designer to contribute to design and production on project teams of 3-6 architects. Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in architecture from an accredited architecture program
  • Entry level to 5 years of experience in architecture offices
  • Strong graphic design skills and ability to research, problem solve, and iterate design solutions
  • Working experience with Revit and Adobe Suite
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience preparing presentation drawings
  • For those beyond entry level, experience preparing construction documents

Valued Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with California building codes
  • Experience working on Type V Construction
  • Experience on community-serving projects for non-profit and public clients
  • Sustainable design experience or proficiency in energy, daylighting or similar modeling/analysis
  • Progress toward licensure and accreditations such as LEED
  • Strong writing skills

Work Style, Hours, Compensation and Benefits:

  • Full-time employment at 40 hours per week
  • Typical office hours fall between 8:30 am and 6:00 pm
  • Our mandatory in-office workdays are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. All staff have the option of working remotely on Mondays and Fridays
  • Salary range is $100,000+, and is based on skills, experience, and internal equity
  • Benefits include medical and life insurance, FSA, 401k retirement plan, professional development allowance, licensure bonus, family leave supplement, bereavement leave and commuter benefits
  • We offer 15 days of personal time off and nine holidays annually
  • Full-time employees can opt for an alternative work week option that allows an 8.5-hour workday in exchange for an additional 15 days off each year
