Open Position:
450 Architects has an immediate opening for a Project Architect with 10 years’ experience in public library and educational facilities. The candidate must be a licensed California Architect with either USGBC LEED accreditation or Passive House Designer certification. Resident of Marin County, CA is highly desired.
Job Responsibilities:
Refining public client protocols; facilitating community engagement with clients, consultants, and community stakeholders; management of all phases of public client architectural design, bid and construction administration; coordination of staff and budgets; and coordination with 450 Architect’s Principals, clients, consultants and AHJ’s. A strong referral network is a plus.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar architectural position with a portfolio of public & private projects (designed and/or under construction).
- Ability to research and apply building codes and zoning ordinances. The candidate must be able to interpret regulations into architectural designs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to lead meetings and present designs, concepts, and problem solutions effectively.
- Well-developed and demonstrated problem solving abilities.
- Architectural design, management and graphic skills necessary for all phases of the project from pre-design through close-out.
- Knowledge of construction materials, design and evaluation of building assemblies, systems and detailing.
- Must be well versed in 2025 California Building Codes & knowledge of DSA review, approval and close-out procedures.
