Project Manager for restaurant and hospitality design firm (EDG Interior Architecture + Design)

Responsibilities:

Defines the scope of projects:

  • Assists in organization of project in cooperation with Project Principal and Senior Designer.
  • Prepares estimated manpower requirements, schedules and other pertinent data.
  • Maintains awareness of the clients’ objectives and the firm’s goals.

Responsible for client contact:

  • Speaks for the firm in dealing with clients.
  • Obtains timely approvals and decisions from client that allows the project to flow smoothly and efficiently.
  • Alerts Project Principal to changes in scope, lack of information or decisions from client that affect schedule or production costs.

Analyzes project scope and organizes project workflow:

  • Determines the skills required of team members for the project.
  • Develops integrated tasks to accomplish individual projects.
  • Participates in the selection of project team members.
  • Responsible for weekly project meetings, projecting staff scheduling and requirements and schedule posting.
  • Establishes project budgets prior to start.

Review and management of projects:

  • Monitors the progress of the project to determine percentage of completion versus money spent foreach phase of the project.
  • Checks for conformance to contract terms, schedule and construction costs
  • Responsible for completing project on time, monitoring project costs against budget and for identifying and charging for additional services (ASO’s).
  • Establishes quality standard with project team.

Responsible for personal and staff development:

  • Participates in professional organizations.
  • Performs senior staff development duties such as mentoring, training, supervising and directing junior staff.
  • Participates in management and leadership groups.

  • Ability to excel in a high-volume, fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal direction; focused and organized
  • Proactive with their work and willing to take initiative on projects

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited university.

License: NCIDQ, CCIDC, NCARB, ASID or comparable license or certification preferred or in process.

Experience: 7-10+ years’ extensive experience in all phases of architectural design, including substantial and varied experience involving responsible planning and interior design of complex projects. Substantial experience with applications of engineering technology, interior design materials and construction methods. Experience with high-end restaurant and hospitality a must.

Skills and Abilities: Excellent drafting and detailing skills; Photoshop, 3D, MS Office, MS Project, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up, InDesign, AutoCAD and Revit. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within project deadlines and budgets.
