Project Architect (jones | haydu)

jones | haydu is seeking a Project Architect with 7–10 years of experience for a full-time position in our San Francisco studio.

We are looking for architects who are technically rigorous, collaborative, thoughtful, and motivated to grow within a design-focused practice. The ideal candidate is someone with strong technical and organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine interest in how buildings are conceived, coordinated, and realized.

Initial projects will primarily involve high-end residential work, often in collaboration with internationally based architects. The role will also include exposure to a wide range of project types across the studio, including hospitality, workplace, athletic, multifamily, and residential work.

As a generalist practice, we are looking for individuals who can move fluidly between technical resolution, consultant coordination, construction administration, client communication, and design-sensitive problem solving. Strong technical skills are essential, along with the ability to understand and support architectural intent through all phases of a project.

REQUIREMENTS

General Requirements:

• Accredited professional architecture degree (BArch or MArch)
• 7–10 years of professional experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience working directly with consultants, clients, and project teams
• Experience through all phases of design and construction administration
• High-end residential experience preferred
• Strong technical and detailing skills
• Collaborative attitude and ability to work within small project teams
• Licensure or active pursuit of licensure preferred

Technical Requirements:

• Strong AutoCAD proficiency required
• Revit experience preferred
• Experience producing and coordinating construction document sets
• Experience with consultant coordination and interdisciplinary integration
• Additional software experience such as SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, rendering, or visualization tools is a plus

Our office is located at the foot of Potrero Hill in a shared studio environment with other creative professionals. The position is Bay Area–based and involves regular in-office collaboration, consultant meetings, and periodic site visits. While the studio supports a balanced and flexible working environment, the role is centered around in-person collaboration within the office and project teams.
