Qualifications
Requirements for this position include at least six years of professional licensure in the United States and at least six years of experience on non-single family residential projects. Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Fully competent in all conventional aspects of architecture, including analysis, design, and specifications
- Ability to generate, develop, critically evaluate, and present architectural concepts throughout all phases of the design process
- Coordination with design and engineering team on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies
- Responsibility for specific technical aspects of assigned projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions to meet client and project needs
- Thorough understanding of building and accessibility codes
- Thorough understanding of design documentation, architectural detailing, and building systems/assemblies
- Familiarity with the public bid process and its impact on drawings and specifications
- Ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and staff within a studio environment
- Ability to provide technical guidance to less experienced architectural staff supporting projects
- Strong design sensibility and commitment to sustainable design; LEED accreditation is a plus
- Proficiency with BIM/3D modeling software including Revit and SketchUp, the Adobe Creative Suite, and hand sketching
- Strong written, graphic, and oral communication skills
