Junior Designer (Part-Time) (AT6 Architecture + Design Build)
AT6 Architecture + Design Build is seeking a motivated Junior Designer to support our integrated residential architecture and construction firm. This is a part-time role ideal for someone who wants to move beyond a narrow design support position and gain broader exposure to the full residential design and construction process.
We are a turnkey architecture and construction company focused on delivering high-quality, modern residential design while integrating architecture and construction services to create a more seamless client experience. Our work offers designers the opportunity to understand how early design decisions carry through permitting, pricing, construction documentation, and the realities of the job site.
About the Position
The Junior Designer will work closely with a Lead Designer to support projects from schematic design through construction documentation and active construction. This role is well-suited for someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to grow their technical and design skills within a structured, fast-paced environment.
The position includes design support during the architecture phase as well as project engineering and coordination tasks related to projects under construction.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist the Lead Designer with concept drawings, 3D visualizations, visual mood boards, material palettes, written scopes of work, construction drawing sets, and architectural details.
- Support the development of drawings from schematic design through construction documentation.
- Research and source fixtures, finishes, equipment, and materials.
- Develop finish, fixture, and equipment recommendations for client review.
- Coordinate with vendors and gather pricing, lead times, and product information.
- Prepare and maintain finish schedules as client decisions are made.
- Support project documentation and coordination during construction.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, vendors, and clients.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- Proficiency in Archicad required.
- Experience creating 3D visualizations with modeling software and AI-assisted design tools is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an architecture or interior design firm.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within established systems and processes.
- Ability to make progress independently with limited supervision.
- Confidence interacting with clients, consultants, and vendors.
- A proactive, positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Hours + Compensation
- This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position averaging approximately 24 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on project workload. The role is hybrid.
