Junior Designer – 2 to 4 years experience (Hamilton + Aitken Architects)
Opportunity:
Hamilton + Aitken has an immediate opening for up a talented and energetic Junior Designer. This position offers immense opportunities to develop design solutions under the supervision of the project architect, grow as part of a collaborative team, and learn about all aspects of the architect’s profession.
The position offers opportunities to learn about all aspects of the architect’s profession, working in a collaborative team of designers and consultants, and to learn skills to move to the next level in your career. Working in this position, you will learn how to implement design concepts in architectural drawings, coordinate the work of consultants, and work with clients, contractors and regulating agencies. You will support projects from design through construction administration phases.
You will get hands-on design experience, develop technical knowledge, and assist with construction administration. To succeed you will need to be strongly motivated and self-directed, with a high level of problem-solving skills. Qualifications:
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience
- BArch or BS in Architecture degree
- Effective communication, both verbal and written
- Strong design ability
- Excellent graphic skills
- Manual sketching ability
- Good organizational skills, and work well with others
- Competence with Revit, Vectorworks or AutoCAD, and MS Word and Excel
- Valid California driver’s license
Salary:
- This is an hourly position at $73,000 – $81,000 annually, plus overtime, depending on experience and skill level
