Intermediate Designer (Studio Bondy Architecture)
Studio Bondy Architecture (SBA) is committed to creating dynamic places where people learn, grow, work, create, and play. We collaborate with educational organizations and non-profits on projects that range in size and scale, from new campuses to individual buildings to interiors. A sample of our current projects includes: master plans for independent schools, an events center for an East Bay municipality, new independent schools in the Bay Area, and renovation of a student affinity house at Stanford University.
SBA is seeking an Intermediate Designer with 4-7 years of experience to work in a fun and challenging environment with excellent opportunities for professional development and to gain experience working on all phases of a project.
Our diverse, 16-person office in Oakland is a dynamic, design-oriented, collaborative practice. With several licensed architects and technical designers on our team, there are many opportunities for mentorship. Candidates must be team players willing to take on a high level of responsibility through a wide variety of tasks in all project phases, from developing design concepts to detailing to construction observation. Duties will include managing day-to-day workflow and meeting project team goals; producing design and construction documents; attending meetings with project team consultants and coordinating their work; and presenting and reporting progress to principals-in-charge.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of professional experience
- BArch or MArch degree
- Excellent skills in Revit, Sketchup, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite
- A strong sense of design
- Experience with construction documents and exterior detailing are a plus
- Professional registration, or progress towards it, is preferred
We offer a competitive salary ($90,000 - $120,000; DOE) and a benefits package including paid holidays and vacation, medical coverage with several plan options, dental coverage, vision coverage, disability coverage, 401(K) with a matching plan, support towards licensure and a professional development stipend. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or reimbursement of relocation expenses.
