Architectural Designer / Job Captain (MEI Architects)
MEI Architects is seeking up to two Architectural Designers / Job Captains to join our San Francisco studio. We are looking for motivated designers who want to work on real, built projects and gain hands-on experience across all phases of architecture.
Our work includes civic, healthcare, and complex urban projects, often requiring coordination with public agencies, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams. This is an opportunity to develop both design and technical skills within a highly engaged project environment.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to design, visualization, and presentation of projects
- Develop and iterate design solutions based on project direction and team collaboration
- Prepare and coordinate construction documents, translating design intent into buildable solutions
- Assist with feasibility studies, code analysis, and entitlement requirements
- Produce drawings, diagrams, models, and renderings across project phases
- Coordinate with consultants under direction of the Project Manager/Architect and principals
- Support project delivery through documentation and coordination
- Assist with construction administration, including submittals and field coordination
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field
- 3–8 years of professional experience
- Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office
- Experience with Rhino, V-Ray, or other rendering tools preferred
- Familiarity with Photoshop, InDesign, and Bluebeam
- Progress toward licensure and LEED accreditation is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Curiosity, initiative, and desire to grow as a designer
Compensation / Benefits
- Salary range: $75,000 – $110,000 annually, depending on experience and skill level
