What is Drawing Light? - IES San Francisco

The San Francisco Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society is proud to host an evening of all-star, illustrious designers presenting
What is drawing light?
Drawing light is a bit like drawing time. An intangible, ephemeral entity; quantifying light onto media almost negates it, rendering it as a shadow. Like time, light exists to make sense of our surroundings.
Presentations will be in Pecha Kucha format, 20 slides, 20 seconds each slide. Drawing from several design professions, we hope to share how this theme has touched on their work and personal development as designers.
Our venue is the beautiful Center for Architecture + Design in the landmark Hallidie Building, downtown San Francisco, at 140 Sutter Street.
Designers presenting include:
- Renee Thomas, MPH – Associate, Lighting and Applied Radiometry at Arup
- Peter Buffington – Architect, Design Leader – Buffington Architects
- Vishal Turkar – Health Principal at HDR Architects San Francisco
- Jonathan Plumpton, Principal, Lighting Designer, Jonathan Plumpton lighting Design
- And more to come!
