MAKERS series: Echoes of Future Matter
MAKERS series exposes the creative and often raw process of individual making by exploring the origins and processes of creativity and the interplay between inspiration, innovation with an emphasis on the act of making itself. Presentations and discussions with diverse practitioners working in the arts, or at the intersection of architecture and design, will broaden our assumptions of the complexities of making at scale—to reveal insights into materials and methods, digital and nature-based technologies, and the highly personal journey between vision and process to reach creative outcomes.
Echoes of Future Matter
Echoes of Future Matter (EoFM) is a cultural engagement platform + design-build studio co-founded by architectural designer and educator, Andrei Hakovich and serial entrepreneur, VC and co-founder of Mighty Buildings, Alexey Dubov. Merging their individual expertise, EoFM creates bold work and thought leadership at the intersection of design, architecture, manufacturing, and emerging technologies and advanced material experimentation.
Practicing with intentional synthesis as both a client-based practice and a philosophical space for peer-to-peer conversations and exhibitions allows for storytelling, incubating and researching radical ideas for real-world applications.
EoFM treats matter as meaning, where every material decision carries cultural significance and emotional depth. Join us to understand how community and architecture drives work that is future-oriented yet rooted in tradition, locality and alive in a rapidly evolving world.

Speakers

Andrei Hakhovich
Andrei is co-founder of EoFM and founder of Gradient Matter, a multi-disciplinary design studio in San Francisco working across architecture, public art and interiors. His work blends material intelligence, spatial computation and emerging technologies with architectural poetics to create sensorial, place-rooted experiences. He teaches architecture at California College of the Arts (CCA) and Academy of Art University.

Alexey Dubov
Alexey is co-founder of EoFM and BuildTech VC, a San Mateo-based venture capital group investing in the future of the built environment. He co-founded Mighty Buildings, a pioneering 3D-printing construction company, and brings deep expertise in construction tech, automation, robotics and advanced materials to EoFM design-build practice.
