International Architect Talk / The Dedalo Minosse International Prize

The Dedalo Minosse International Prize, founded in 1997 and based in Vicenza, Italy, is unique in the global architectural landscape for honoring the collaborative relationship between the architect and the client (committente). Rather than focusing solely on design aesthetics or individual designer merit, the prize recognizes that exceptional architecture requires an enlightened patron who stimulates, supports, and guides the creative process. Open to professional architects and clients worldwide, the biennial awards evaluate entries based on architectural quality, sustainability, social responsibility, and the successful navigation of complex programmatic and execution challenges—proving that a great building is always the result of a great partnership.

The Dedalo Minosse International Prize returns to San Francisco for its 2026 edition, co-hosted by Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco and AIA San Francisco. This signature presentation and exhibition celebrate the unique, critical collaboration between the architect and the client in delivering exceptional architecture.

The event features presentations from two of Italy's most distinguished contemporary architects, showcasing design excellence and the collaborative processes behind their award-winning work: Giulia de Appolonia and Fiorenzo Valbonesi - details on the speakers' agenda coming up soon.
