We invite you to join us in honoring the life and legacy of Bobbie Sue Hood, FAIA: a trailblazing architect, artist, and advocate for women. Bobbie Sue grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas and attended Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania before going on to get a Masters of Architecture from UC Berkeley in 1971.  She designed dozens of buildings in San Francisco and worked on significant projects like the San Francisco Civic Center Courthouse.  The homes she designed have touched the lives of hundreds of San Franciscans, and Bobbie Sue lived much of her life in buildings that she designed with her colleagues from Hood Miller Associates.  Early on in her career, Bobbie Sue was a founding member of the Organization of Women Architects and helped create the Women’s School of Planning and Architecture.  She also served as the first president of the San Francisco Building Inspection Commission and the first woman president of AIA SF.  A devoted mother and grandmother, Bobbie Sue dedicated her life—both professionally and personally--to championing beauty, equity, and respect for the natural world.

Bobbie Sue's family, friends, and colleagues welcome you to share memories of her on Sunday, July 20th at 10am Pacific Time at the Center for Architecture + Design in San Francisco, or on Zoom.

For those who wish to contribute, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Center for Architecture + Design, in honor of Bobbie Sue Hood.

Light bites will be served.
