Join César Escalante, AIA, for an exclusive guided private tour of Autodesk’s Pier 9 Technology Center on the San Francisco waterfront. Pier 9 is part of Autodesk’s global Technology Centers network, a research and innovation hub where digital design meets physical making through advanced fabrication, robotics, and hands-on experimentation.
During the tour, participants will explore studios and workshop spaces, experience cutting-edge tools and workflows in action, and engage directly with resident makers who are pushing the boundaries of materials, fabrication methods, and emerging technologies shaping the future of design and construction. The tour is 45 minutes long with 15 minutes for Q+A. 

César Escalante, AIA, LEED AP, CM-BIM, is a registered architect and Technical Marketing Manager at Autodesk, where he focuses on design technology, computational workflows, and industry innovation. He serves on the AIA San Francisco Board of Directors, chairs the AIA National Technology in Architectural Practice Knowledge Community, and teaches BIM and design technology at Stanford University. César regularly speaks and writes on the intersection of architecture, technology, and the future of the built environment.
Attendee Instruction: 
  • All guests must wear closed toed shoes
  • Guests can put bags and jackets in closet behind reception 
  • No photos in the office area or Robotics Lab
  • Photography is permitted in workshop spaces, with permission given from people working on projects.​
  • This is an R&D facilities, do not disturb residents and do not touch objects on people's desks.
