Bay Front City Boat Tour

Sunday, September 20, 2026
10:00 AM - 12:30 PM (PDT)
Category: Festival Event

See San Francisco from a whole new perspective aboard a private bay sailboat with architect Cathy Simon and urban design critic John King. As you cruise the city's iconic waterfront, enjoy a lively conversation exploring the architecture, history, and future of the Bay's edge.

From the Ferry Building and Treasure Island, to sea level planning, and the "what ifs" that almost reshaped San Francisco—including a casino on Alcatraz —Cathy and John will share stories, insights, and behind-the-scenes perspectives inspired by the ever-changing waterfront. Enjoy a light breakfast and coffee with an engaging, unscripted discussion, stunning views, and a fresh appreciation for the Bay that continues to shape our city.

Hosted by the Center for Architecture + Design in collaboration with AIASF. While registration is processed through AIASF, 100% of ticket proceeds directly support the Center for Architecture + Design's public programs, exhibitions, and educational initiatives, helping us advance design awareness and foster meaningful conversations about the built environment.
