Since 2002, Margie O’Driscoll has served as executive director of AIA San Francisco, one of the largest and most active AIA components in the nation. In fact, AIA San Francisco is known for its creative programming, and this is in no small part due to Margie’s contributions. She has been incredibly adept in promoting thoughtful dialogue about architecture by developing invaluable partnerships and piloting programs such as the Architecture and the City festival, the 99% Invisible podcast and Unbuilt San Francisco exhibition. She has also found other opportunities for programs and critical conversations surrounding net-zero design, gender disparity in the design community, health-promoting design and the path to licensure. In her 12 year tenure, Margie has successfully raised the profile of architecture beyond the confines of the profession while simultaneously supporting the industry with robust continued education opportunities.
