Project Architect - 10+ years’ experience
Kennerly Architecture & Planning is an award-winning architectural practice established in 2000 and located in the Mission District in San Francisco.
We are looking for a design-oriented Project Manager/ Architect with strong technical skills to join our team. We are seeking someone who is self-motivated, good-humored, and curious. This position offers the opportunity to work on a range of project types, with a focus on multi-family housing.

Responsibilities
- Organize and lead the design efforts of the design team through all phases of design, from programming and concept design through construction administration.
- Maintain contact with clients, consultants and contractors and create exceptional communication and collaboration.
- Manage schedules, staffing, and overall project delivery at the highest level of design and technical excellence.
- Maintain awareness of evolving building technology and systems. Understand and coordinate engineering systems relevant to projects.
- Knowledge and implementation experience of sustainable design practices.
- Mentor and coordinate work efforts of junior staff and help support their professional growth.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of post-graduate architecture experience, with recent experience as a project manager leading large, complex projects through all phases of design and completion.
- Proactive attitude with excellent analytical, problem-solving and presentational skills is required.
- Strong designer at all scales including detailing and space-planning without at-hand technical support.
- Fluent in Revit, ACAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Experience leading multi-family residential projects; managing consultant teams.
- Experience with state and local building codes and accessibility requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high design standards through city entitlement/permitting processes, technical documentation, and construction administration.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, technical research, systems and documentation at all project phases.
- License to practice architecture in CA is ideal but not required.
- Accredited architectural degree (BArch or MArch).
- Fluent in English and effective communication with internal team as well as with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors is required.
