Job Captain – 4 to 7 years experience (Hamilton + Aitken)
Hamilton + Aitken has an immediate opening for a talented and energetic Job Captain. The position will involve responsibility for preparing design and construction drawing packages, directing the efforts of junior staff, coordinating the work of consultants, and meeting with clients, contractors and regulating agencies. Clear understanding of construction processes and detailing are important. The job captain will support projects from design through construction administration phases, as well as support other projects in the office through quality control review and detailing.

You will be integral to the process from design through construction administration, detailing construction documents, and everything in between. Qualifications:
- 4 to 7 years of professional experience
- BArch or BS in Architecture degree
- Effective communication, both verbal and written
- Good organizational skills, and ability to lead and direct others, as well as to collaborate with teams
- Knowledge of California Building Code
- Strong detailing and manual sketching ability
- Excellent Revit skills, and MS Word and Excel
- A valid California driver’s license required, and the ability to travel to drive to client meetings and project sites.
Preferred Experience:
- Type I and II design experience
- Experience in airport or educational project types
- Experience on projects permitted by Division of the State Architect (DSA) or SFO Building Inspection and Code Enforcement (BICE).
