AIASF Committees: Design for Aging

Design for Aging provides a monthly forum for interdisciplinary presentations and discussions on topics relating to aging and the built environment. Architects, contractors, activists, senior living providers, people from across various professions and from the local community all bring their perspectives and knowledge.

Meetings highlight innovative and sustainable housing and services, home products addressing aging, nursing home regulations, dementia/memory care projects, assisted living and continuing care retirement communities, co-housing, aging in place, and other topics of interest. By coming together and discussing design innovation, we hope to enhance the built environment and quality of life for our aging society.

Our first meeting was held on November 7, 2007, and we continue to interface directly with the National AIA Design for Aging Knowledge Community as well as other components around the country.
