call for submissions

Proposals now being accepted through Friday, March 15, 11:59 (PST)

Co-presented by AIA San Francisco and the Center for Architecture + Design, the annual Architecture + the City (September 1-30) takes place in San Francisco every September. This month-long celebration features San Francisco Living: Home Tours (September 21) as well as behind-the-scenes programs, walking tours, films, exhibitions, presentations and more that provide an excellent opportunity for all communities to experience architecture and design in a myriad of ways throughout the city.

We are pleased to announce the 16th annual Architecture + the City festival theme, “We the City”, which aims to explore how cultural diversity and connectivity inspire and inform the built environment. From the Dogpatch to the Outer Sunset -- San Francisco is a unique, diverse, and multi-generational mosaic. What connects (or disconnects) us? How will we reinforce keeping our city livable and sustainable?

The Call for Submissions seeks program ideas that will shape the festival’s behind-the-scenes programs, tours, exhibitions, presentations and more to provide an excellent opportunity for all communities to experience architecture and design in a myriad of ways throughout the city. Proposals are also being accepted for our signature San Francisco Living: Home Tours, an open house event which features five outstanding modern homes and showcases a variety of architectural styles that takes attendees through some of the city's most spectacular neighborhoods.

Give us your best pitch and be part of one of the nation's largest and longest running architectural and design festivals.
