We will discuss the recently approved Family Zoning Plan, the upcoming Electrification Ordinance, and more! Planning & DBI will be there to explain it all and answer your questions.

David Kane
David Kane is the Deputy Director for Permit Services at the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection, where he oversees plan review, permit services, compliance programs and building code updates. A civil and structural engineer, he brings more than 25 years of experience designing residential, commercial and institutional projects, including many seismic retrofit projects.
David previously served as chair of the Professional Practice Committee for the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California and worked as an exam consultant to the California State Board of Engineers for the Structural Engineering exam and the California Seismic Principles Exam.

Laurel Mathews
Laurel Mathews is a Program Manager with the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection, where she leads implementation of safety initiatives for existing buildings, including the Concrete Building Screening Program, the Façade Inspection and Maintenance Program, and the Post-Earthquake Building Occupancy Resumption Program.
Previously, Laurel managed the City’s Earthquake Safety Implementation Program (ESIP) and the Lifelines Council. She also holds a Master of City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley.
