Join in this lively exploration of 3D design technology with hands-on demos on desktop and in augmented and virtual reality. Emerging 3D design tech has the disruptive potential to drive major changes in our profession. How can we embrace 3D design tech and expand our reach as architects to participate in the 75% of US building projects where architects are not now engaged? How might 3D design tech further improve the dynamic between architects, builders, clients, and the public? What challenges have recently been solved in 3D design tech and how might 3D design tech grow in the near future?
- Participants will discover new 3D design tech that they can use to improve productivity.
- Participants will test augmented and virtual reality equipment to envision and communicate their designs in a new way.
- Participants will investigate new 3D design tech that can expand their creative expression.
- Participants will brainstorm about untapped markets, professional challenges interdisciplinary dynamics, and professional problems that 3D design tech can be used to solve
