B. Alexandra Szerlip is the author of The Man Who Designed the Future: Norman Bel Geddes and the Invention of 20th Century America (Melville House), named one of the Top Ten Arts Books of 2017 by the American Library Association and a Book of the Year by London’s Spectator. She was a two-time National Endowment for the Arts Fellow, a Yaddo Fellow, and runner-up for London’s Lothian Prize for a first biography-in-progress, the first American ever to make it to the finals. "Vintage Tech," her column for The Believer magazine, debuted in July, 2018. Szerlip, who has worked as an editor, a graphic designer, a lights-and-sound theatre designer, a mixed-media sculptor, and narrator on the unabridged audio of her book (Blackstone Audio), is currently conducting research on (wait for it) alligators.
