AIASF’s Mentorship Committee invites artists, architects, designers, construction industry members, students and activists to participate in a special edition of PARK(ing) Day organized as part of Architecture + the City. The annual event calls attention to the need for more urban open space by converting a metered parking space into a temporary public intervention for one day, this year created around the festival theme, Future City. Join the Mentorship Committee to build a collaborative installation in front of the Hallidie Building below AIASF headquarters, or submit independent installations in the city of San Francisco for consideration for the A+C: PARK(ing) Day touring critique.
A people’s vote by festivalgoers will name the best installation based on design, concept and overall experience expressing the “Future City”.

PARK(ing) Day was started in 2005 by the San Francisco art and design studio Rebar and has evolved into a global movement for revisioning urban public space. The AIASF Mentorship Program supports the project’s mission to reclaim a small portion of the city for the public realm and improve the quality of urban human habitat while fostering AEC professional development.
Entrants will be notified of selection in early September. Participation is free.
First-time registrants: everyone is welcome to participate in our programs. You do not need to be an AIA member to register, but you will need to create an account on the aiasf.org website to sign up for all AIASF events (AIA San Francisco chapter members will automatically have a profile on the AIASF website).
