Karoo Wilderness Center

Honor Award

Unbuilt Design

A building intended to support future development of local communities in South Africa, the design of Karoo Wilderness Center is informed by the strategies employed by the local flora and how they function. The roof captures and holds rainwater for drinking and provides radiant thermal conditioning of the interior spaces when needed.
