Programs
As the Bay Area's premier destination for architecture and design, AIA San Francisco offers many dynamic programs and opportunities to explore the local built environment throughout the year. The San Francisco and Marin Living Home Tours series and the Architecture and the City festival provide individuals with a firsthand look at the world of good design in the region. AIA San Francisco's annual Design Awards programs and Small Firms, Great Projects publication celebrate and promote the work of local design professionals.
Women in Architecture
The Missing 32%
In the United States, women represent about 50% of students enrolled in architecture programs, but only 18% of licensed architects are women. AIA San Francisco convenes leading professionals to discuss pressing issues within the architectural profession and explore changes necessary to keep future generations of practitioners engaged in the field.
Tours
Home Tours
Presented by AIA San Francisco and the Center for Architecture + Design, Marin Living: Home Tours and San Francisco Living: Home Tours is the first tour series of its kind in the Bay Area to promote a wide variety of architectural styles, neighborhoods, and residences - all from the architect's point of view. The annual program provides design enthusiasts and the general public with an inside look into the world of distinctive residences in the Bay Area.
