Join the AIASF Historic Resources Committee for a tour of St. Joseph’s Church, whose adaptive reuse as office space has recently been completed. The project rehabilitated the deteriorated church, which had been vacant for more than twenty years. Scope included seismic strengthening, accessibility upgrades, and various renovations that bring the property into compliance with current building and safety codes. A new free-standing mezzanine space was installed in the historic sanctuary, and seismic work has been sensitively designed to minimally affect historic materials and interior volume. Additionally, the project repaired significant exterior and interior architectural features—including stained glass windows, the marble vestibule, and decorative plaster work. In order to obtain tax credits, improvements met the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
The tour will be led by Page & Turnbull, preservation architect for the project.
Registration will close two (2) hours in advance of the start time or once the event reaches capacity.*
