Latinos in Architecture (LiA), a committee of the San Francisco Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), is proud to announce PERSPECTIVAS 2017—an opportunity for design professionals to showcase built and unbuilt design work to the Bay Area community at large. This exhibition aims to showcase the work and talent of architecture professionals, designers, artists, and related fields practicing in San Francisco and the Greater Bay Area. The exhibit will be part of the Architecture and the City Festival programs presented by the AIA San Francisco and the Center for Architecture + Design. California College of the Arts is hosting the exhibition during the month of September at the CCA Nave and outdoor studio space (download the floor plan). Submissions are due by Saturday, July 15.
This year, the Architecture and the City festival theme will be “Secret City". PERSPECTIVAS 2017 will focus on projects that explore and reveal the many layers of historic San Francisco and how architecture and design play a key role in the ever-changing urban landscape. San Francisco is filled with many people on a daily basis—locals, residents, tourists, commuters, and homeless—each having their own perspective on San Francisco’s current state. Each group of people intimately understand certain parts of the city, while other parts of the city remain hidden or tucked away from the casual observer: the secret city.
