3D CAD modeling is an essential and yet inefficient step in creative manufacturing: from architecture to product design. Mindesk is building the next design platform and this event is a unique chance to meet the first Virtual Reality interface in the world for CAD software a be part of its development! The session includes an introduction speech that shows current CAD panorama and explains how VR impacts on 3D modeling and 3D printing; a hands-on session on the Mindesk VR system for McNeel Rhinoceros; and a brainstorming session. Along with participants, we will explore unparalleled solutions to creative challenges.
- Expand your awareness of CAD and VR software potential
- Learn about the impact of VR technologies on design pipelines
- Experience unprecedented design workflows
- Give your contribute to the next VR design platform
About the Presenter
Gabriele is CEO and co-founder of Mindesk, a company that helps tech and design leading firms like HP and Zaha Hadid Architects producing superior design works through the synergy of virtual reality and CAD software.
Gabriele fell in love with computer aided design at the age of 14. Since then he trained himself to become an expert of computational design. He graduated from Polytechnic University of Milan with a Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering and worked as an intern architect for Renzo Piano Building Workshop and Heller Manus Architects.
In 2016, Gabriele attended the Fulbright BEST program in Santa Clara University, where he further developed his entrepreneurial project. One year later, his company was selected among hundreds of startups worldwide to join HTC ViveX program in San Francisco, backed by three VC investors.
Diego Taccioli and Arthur Azoulai are the founders the design studio - Slice Lab, which operates as a think tank specializing in innovative digital design. Slice Lab strives to push the threshold where digital design meets tangible product with focus on continuing to optimize the workflow of high end fabrication design implementation.
In 2011, Diego and Arthur graduated with Masters in Architecture from University of Pennsylvania where they worked as digital fabrication lab and shop managers. They became obsessed with realizing their designs through rapid prototyping and physical full scale mock ups. Less than a year later, they founded Slice Lab which has worked with a large range of clientele and has been sponsored by companies like Autodesk to help further develop their design processes. Slice Lab works on projects ranging anywhere from digital design, fabrication consulting to concept visualization - Simplicity, complexity & everything between.
Arthur currently works as a Project Manager & Designer for Rockwell Group in New York City. Diego is a Senior Designer at WRNS Studio in San Francisco as well as a graduate instructor at the Academy of Arts focusing on advanced digital design and 3D printing.
