The Next Iteration: Trends in BIM Technology and Architectural Practice (2 HSWs)

Please join AIA SF in welcoming Kimon Onuma of Onuma, Inc. and Dennis Shelden of Gehry Technologies for a discussion that will map future directions in BIM technology and architectural practice. Kimon G. Onuma, FAIA, has a unique perspective spanning architecture, planning, programming and software development, and is a market leader in the interoperability of BIM and GIS. Dennis Shelden is a founder and Chief Technology Officer of Gehry Technologies, formed in 2001 by the research and development team of Gehry Partners. Shelden joined Gehry Partners in 1997 and became director of the firm's computation efforts in 2000, where he was responsible for the management and strategic direction of the firm's technology infrastructure, project applications, process and software development initiatives, and research and development.

Moderator Michael Bade, AIA, Director, UCSF Capital Programs, oversees roughly 140 capital projects: a program commitment of over $800M. Michael has worked in the UC President's office and engaged in private sector design, project management, and program delivery in Tokyo.
