Green Happens: Arterra Case Study October 17, 2007 5:30 - 7:30 pm AIA San Francisco, 130 Sutter Street, Suite 600, San Francisco "Green", "Sustainable Design", and "LEED" are all becoming common terms and concerns in the architectural community. In spite of general acceptance of these ideals in design, incorporating them successfully into real, built projects can still often seem like an insurmountable challenge. Perceptions of increased costs, limitations of design, or difficulty of incorporating systems conspire to continue to discourage most projects from actively pursuing a "Green” agenda. Join us for a presentation on Arterra: San Francisco's first high rise condominium project to be designed to be LEED certified. Learn how this market rate housing project, in the up and coming Mission Bay neighborhood, incorporates various sustainable ideals and principles into different aspects of the design, while meeting and bolstering programmatic and project goals for the developer client.
Speakers:
Jennifer Gadiel, Faraaz Mirza, and Neil Peralta - Kwan Henmi Architecture Planning, Inc.
