This renovation project located in the Nob Hill district of San Francisco was intended to serve as an annex to the client’s primary residence located just across an urban alley. The cottage contains a flexible entertaining/gallery/theatre space, a studio/workroom, and two full guest suites. Central to this project was the concept of building an active container for the housing and display of the client’s extensive collection of paintings, photography and works on paper.
