BENEFITS

As a member, you will have the opportunity to help shape the future of your profession through chapter and state committees as well as a thriving advocacy program. In addition, membership offers ample opportunity for professional development and networking to advance your career. Following are the benefits for each member type. (Some of the benefits are for a limited time only, and we send details to the current members in our e-mail newsletters.) Architect and Associate AIA members can also see their National-level benefits by reviewing the Member Benefits Guide at: http://www.aia.org/members.cfm

NEW BENEFITS IN 2008

  • Attend the National AIA Convention for Free! All first-time AIA and Associate AIA members who join the AIA between May 6, 2007 and May 17, 2008 are invited to attend the 2008 National convention free of charge. This is a valuable opportunity to spend time with your colleagues and peers and experience the full benefit of your membership at the leading design and construction industry event. The 2008 convention will take place May 15-17 in Boston. For more information about the convention, visit www.aiaconvention.com and www.aia.org/ev_conv_aia_08. *This benefit does not apply to Allied or Student memberships, as they are only with the local SF chapter and therefore not eligible for National-level member benefits.
  • Free Magazine Subscription: Every new and renewing member who joins from January 1st through December 31st, 2008 will receive a 1-year subscription to the highly-acclaimed "Western Interiors and Design" Magazine. For renewing members, the subscription information slip will arrive in your 2008 invoice. (If you already have an existing subscription, it will be renewed for 1 additional free year as long as you send in the subscription form.) New AIA San Francisco members in 2008 will receive a separate letter with the subscription form approximately 8 weeks after submitting your application. This benefit is brought to you by the AIA San Francisco and Western Interiors and Design Magazine.
