Kerman/Morris Architects is a small design-oriented architecture firm located in North Beach with a dynamic and growing practice of exciting projects and a committed and friendly staff. We have a longstanding commitment to the City of San Francisco and it’s neighborhoods, where we specialize in designing multi-family infill housing projects of all scales; custom residential projects; historical, cultural and adaptive reuse projects. Our clients are individuals and families, market-rate and affordable housing developers.

Current projects include the conversion of a Nationally Registered historic single screen movie house into a dinner theater/night club; a 100-unit mixed housing/commercial development in the Mission District; numerous moderate scale infill housing developments in San Francisco neighborhoods; the conversion of a landmarked historic commercial high-rise into residential use on Market Street; and multiple custom homes and addition/alterations.

Junior Architect

We are currently looking to hire an enthusiastic, motivated junior architect with a passion for design excellence, strong graphic and people skills. We have a comfortable, collegial work environment focusing on design excellence and service to our clients. As we are a small firm, you will work on a number of projects from schematics through construction documents and construction administration.

Position requirements include:

  • A professional degree in Architecture,
  • 3 to 5 years solid work experience in an architecture firm(s),
  • Strong graphic, communication and team skills,
  • Intellectual curiosity and resourcefulness,
  • Proficiency in CAD (we use ArchiCAD on a Mac platform),
  • Experience in 3-D rendering/modeling and Photoshop,
  • Familiarity with building and planning codes,
  • A positive attitude and sense of humor.
