05/05/2008 Intermediate Interior Designer Intermediate Interior Designer; 5-7 years experience Michael Willis Architects is an award-winning architecture and interior design firm based in San Francisco. Our practice areas include; multi-family housing, civic, institutional, commercial, transportation, interiors and water. As we enter the 20th year of our practice we find ourselves growing as the firm has been selected recently for several large, high-profile commissions. We are currently seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer with 5-7 years of experience in medium to large scale commercial, civic and institutional interior architectural projects. This position will be based in our Oakland Interior Architecture Studio. The Intermediate Interior Designer working in collaboration with the Project Manager and Job Captain will be involved in all aspects of the project from design through construction. Responsibilities of this role include: • Participate on interior projects during the initial programming, space planning and design phases • Generate interior design concepts including the formulation of design presentation strategies, and make presentations to clients • Develop interior materials and finishes palettes that respond to the project goals and budget • Select, budget and specify furnishings • Participate in the development of construction documents and FFE specifications for projects • Participate in the contract administration phase of projects • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior designers We are looking for candidates with: • Excellent knowledge of the programming, space planning and design requirements for commercial interior architecture projects • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a project team • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks • Strong verbal and written communication skills • A professional degree in Interior Architecture or Architecture from an accredited university • 5-7 years of relevant project experience • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp & MS Office Suite (Experience with Revit desirable) • LEED Accreditation or working towards achieving
