ARCHITECT/PROJECT MANAGER

Looking for an architect/project manager with strong technical skills, client and consultant coordination and communications skills. The successful candidate must be able to work independently as well as able to lead and direct the work of staff and consultants. Candidate will be responsible for producing design drawings and contract documents for large and medium size Justice, Correctional, Educational, Civic and public projects under direct supervision of the Project Director.

Responsibilities:  This role has a primary focus toward the coordination of the technical aspects of the project with clients, engineering and other design consultants.  Leads the production of documents with other disciplines and design professionals.  Possesses expert familiarity with building codes and building systems appropriate for the project type.  Manage and estimate production efforts for the design team, including junior architects, production staff and consultants.  Mentors team members on technical coordination aspects of projects.  Assists the Project Director with other duties, including project quality and the timely completion of “business basics” (Owner/Architect and Architect/Consultant Agreements; internal project budgets, monitoring of scope of work and project budget compliance and negotiation of additional service requests and collections).

Qualifications: • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of architectural experience and 5 years of project management experience. • A degree in architecture and licensed in California. • Design and production experience on public projects • Ability to manage and lead meetings with clients and consultants • Ability to effectively lead an architectural team • Strong written and oral communication skills • Strong proficiency and working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel and Word • Must be a U.S. Resident
